The resident striped bass in the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay have schooled up and become available for anglers to catch.

For the fly and light tackle enthusiast now’s the time to enjoy the excitement of catching striped bass on top water.  When top water isn’t available, fishing water columns down to and including the bottom can make your day productive.

We left Chesapeake Beach in mid morning and ran east then south looking for stripers on the 35 to 40 foot line.  There was plenty bait on the west side of the Bay, but very little stripers.  We kept running south and located a feeding school of nice size striped bass ranging to 24".  Most were caught on soft plastics in the mid to bottom water columns.  We didn’t see any breaking fish the entire day.  It was an enjoyable trip with fish being caught with calm winds on the Bay throughout the day.

NOTE:  Speaking on June 9th - 'Maximizing Your GPS/Fish Finder/Plotter'.  Please come early and enjoy the food and drink.
